Senior Stephen Cardullo started the season off hot as he was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored, two walks and four RBIs. Mike McGee had a solid night with a pair of hits, which included his first home run, which was a two run shot in the fourth, along with three RBIs.

Sean Gilmartin (1-0) settled down after a shaky first two innings to go on to pick up the win on seven winnings pitched allowing two earned runs on five hits and striking out seven.

The same two teams will meet on Saturday at Dick Howser Stadium on Saturday at 2:00 PM.

The fifth ranked Florida State Seminoles Baseball team opened the season on the right foot as they routed the Georgia State Panthers, 11-3, in Tallahassee on Friday night.
