The Florida State Seminoles looking for a big win to turn around a slow start to the season picked up a huge win, as they destroyed the #7 BYU Cougers, 54-28, in Provo, Utah on Saturday night.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 19 Florida State volleyball team began the Seminole Tri-Tournament Friday night at Tully Gym by sweeping Miami (25-20, 25-15, 25-17) in both team's first Atlantic Coast Conference game of the season.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Fifth-ranked Florida State (7-1-0) got a golden goal from sophomore Toni Pressley less than three minutes into the first overtime as the Seminoles defeated No. 7 Florida (5-3-0) 1-0. The win came in front of 3,526 fans, the fifth largest crowd in UF history and the largest crowd to witness a Florida State/Florida match in Gainesville |

Despite the gloomy start to the Florida State Seminoles' football season, now is not the time to panic. Sure, our shoot out win with Miami and a near embarrassment at home against Jacksonville State showed that we have many areas to work on, however that doesn't mean this season is a total wash.
